The following provisions were imposed on exporting pets:

A. Quarantine regulations.
B. Regulations of protecting endangered species

If one exports pets involving quarantine issues or in need of a certificate or approval for customs clearance, please make the formal export clearance to the customs.

A.Quarantine regulations:

A quarantine certificate issued by the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine(BAPHIQ) is required for the following situations:

(a) Exporting pets listed on the Consolidated List of Commodities Subject to Export Restriction and Commodities Assisted by Customs for Export Examination.

(b) Exporting pets to the country which has quarantine requirements.

B.Regulations of protecting endangered Species:

(a) Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES):

For exportation of CITES-listed species, a permit or certificate issued by the Bureau of Foreign Trade is required.

(b) the Wildlife Conservation Act:

Exportation of species regulated by the Wildlife Conservation Act also requires a permit issued by the Forest Bureau, Council of Agriculture (Protected Land Species) or Ocean Conservation Administration (Protected Marine Species).


In case of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the latter shall prevail.
