Export Restrictions

Outbound passengers shall submit a written export cargo declaration form to the office of customs duty payment following an Export Cargo Declaration process if:

(a) articles carried are in the “Consolidated List of Commodities Subject to Export Restriction and Commodities Assisted by Customs for Export Examination

(b) other articles carried, excluding personal effects and what subject to the foregoing provisions, are exceeding a totaled value of US$ 20,000.

Other regulations

Outbound passengers shall declare to customs for registration or document validation prior to checking luggage if:

(a) carrying Money Laundering Controlled Items (click to see more information).

(b) carrying commodities or valuable personal effects that are planning to be re-imported/carried back to Taiwan(click to see more information).

(c) carrying items that requires prior approval or certificate, such as:

(1) items subject to the Wildlife Conservation Act:

(i) Export of protected land species, live or products thereof, requires prior approval by the Forest Bureau, Council of Agriculture.

(ii) Export of protected marine species, live or products thereof, requires prior approval by the Ocean Conservation Administration.

(2) Export of items subject to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES-listed species), live or products thereof, requires a certificate issued by the Bureau of Foreign Trade.

In case of any discrepancy between the English version and the Chinese version, the latter shall prevail.
